Club Meetings -

There will be a one hour mini hunt from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on November 7th at Concord Community Park. Entrance fee to the hunt is $5. You must be a member of the club to participate in the hunt.

Our November meeting will be held at Concord Community Park on Sunday, November 7th. It will begin at 12 p.m. A raffle will be part of the meeting. Each person in attendance will receive silver dime.

Each month we discuss the previous month's mini-hunt, the upcoming month's mini-hunt, and a volunteer show-and-tell session where members display their finds for the month, and talk about where and how they found their "treasures".

Monthly Mini-Hunts - Usually held on the last Sunday of each month, these hunts are a great way to get together with other club members for a bit of friendly competition for coins and prizes. A typical hunt starts at 9 a.m. in the morning and lasts for an hour or so. Members line the hunt field until a signal is given, at which point the detectorists hunt a pre-determined site for surface targets.

Tonopah trip - Each Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend, many members caravan to Tonopah, NV to enjoy a long weekend of sifting at the abandoned city dump for gold coins and assorted tokens, and metal detecting at the local ghosttowns. Silver was discovered here in 1900, which sparked one of the biggest mining booms in the state. Many of the town's buildings, such as the Mizpah Hotel and the Nye County Courthouse, were built in the early 20th century. If you come up empty handed at the dump and ghosttowns, there are several local casinos that offer the opportunity to strike it rich!
